In the past two weeks AENDEE has gotten SO much love from some amazing places. I was surprised to find a full page photo & a brief interview in my alma mater's quarterly magazine, blown away by a beautiful spread in the latest issue of Dainy Obsessions, and downright floored by some features from Etsy. Yeah... you read that right... Etsy.
It's always exciting to see your work, your words, and your products in print. I've held onto almost every article ever written about AENDEE (most of which I saved in multiple in order to send home to my family back in Illinois). I'll never forget how it felt to see AENDEE in print for the very first time and even after many amazing mentions in the press, it still feels awesome to be recognized for the work that you do.
Last week Etsy featured one of the fabulous shots that Elisabeth Ethen took for AENDEE last Father's Day - the image was shared on their Instagram and they even used it for their Facebook cover page!
I've looked up to Etsy and Etsy sellers for over a decade and it was/is really exciting to see my products featured by them in such a cool way. The listing that utilizes this image has even been featured on two of their curated Etsy Finds lists over the past two weeks! Needless to say I am now very familiar with the various alert noises that the Etsy app makes for different actions.
"Soandso followed your shop" *ding*
"Suchandsuch favorited your item" *da-dun*
"Etsy conversation from Thisreallycoolperson" *bing*
"Etsy order confirmation from ThecoolestEtsyuserever" *cha-ching* ... yeah, it seriously makes a cha-ching noise when you make a sale.
I'm so humbled by this kind of recognition, I never dreamed that I'd build a company that Etsy would take note of, even in this simple way. I love being able to share my story with others as it continues to evolve into a narrative I never could have imagined. I still have so much work to do to bring AENDEE to it's full potential - each day I am continuing to learn and grow and discover new possibilities and try new things. It's been an adventure and I'm very grateful for all of the support I've been shown along the way!
